The subject of capital structure is very germane to financial management and to the successful operation of any firms. It is the decision of financing business operations with either shareholders' equity or debts or proportional combination of both. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of capital structure on the financial performance of deposit money banks in Nigeria. The study adopted ex-post factor research design and judgmental sampling technique was used to select Five (5) out of 21 deposit money banks in Nigeria taking the period 2008 to 2017.
