The problem of some organizations are issues faced with bookkeeping, recording and storing of financial data, lack of skilled employees and inadequate resources. The general objective of this research is to examine and determine the effect of information technology on accounting systems and operations. The study carried out a survey research design that measures two variables, a dependent variable and an independent variable. The study made us of the opinion of staff from the accounting, production and procurement department of the case study company. The primary data were gathered from one hundred and fifty copies of the questionnaire distributed to various divisions in the organization. The study concluded that information technology has a significant relationship with accounting systems, organizational performance has a positive and statistically significant relationship with accounting systems, but accounting packages used in Flour Mills do not have a significant relationship with the accounting systems of the organization.
