In this study the comparative analysis of MTU undergraduates preference of news blogs and traditional media for news consumption. The study examines MTU students perception of the preference of news blogs over traditional journalism. This study sought to inquire into the knowledge of students as requires the source credibility of their preferred news outlet, the
challenges te encounter when consuming news as well as to probing into the pattern of news consumption among the millennial in comparison with new media technologies like news blogs and traditional media In line with the objectives of this research, the instrument of data collection used was the structured questionnaire, distributed to a sample size of 303 out of the 1,265 students
of the school. The data gathered was thereafter analysed, presented and interpreted using the descriptive data analysis technique; by presenting the data in table, frequencies, percentages, and narratives. The findings of the study revealed that Students use blogs, Facebook and WhatsApp to update themselves on the news. Majority of the respondents don't know the source credibility of
their preferred news outlets. They also experience have challenges when using news blogs or traditional medias like radios, televisions and newspapers. Unstable power supply and fluctuations of Internet services affects their consumption frequency and access to news on other preferred media platforms. Students actually updates themselves very often, and have a high level of
knowledge and credibility about their preferred media outlet.
