This study looks into the importance of music during the installation of Yorùbá Chiefs and also the various inter play of traditional music as a whole in Yorùbá culture, the functions of music in our everyday life and the spiritual significance of African traditional music and instruments. The ethnographic approach and qualitative research methodology are used to collect primary and
secondary data for the study. This study looked into the history and pratices of the Fọ̀kọ̀ people and Fọ̀kọ̀ Royal Court Music. However, during the cause of the study it has been discovered that many people do not pay much attention to the history and music of the people of Ìbàdàn. More research is needed to be done in order to explore, preserve and document the traditional music of
the people
